Two routers are connected with a VPN tunnel, and the networks behind each router are the same. For one site to access hosts at the other site, Network Address Translation (NAT) is used on the routers to change both the source and the destination addresses to different subnets. Jan 04, 2015 · Kewlx25 is correct that 2 devices on the same network shouldn't have the same IP address as it will cause a conflict. However since your network seems to be working I think that the reason might be that by connecting the routers together using the WAN port you may have added Network Address Translation into the mix.
