I could not connect, so I rebooted the system and tried again. Still nothing. I ahve tried this multiple times, 4 or 5, each time, the internet connects, I am able to ping the company, and the system begins searching for the vpn connection, however the system goes on forever searching for the connection until it is manually cancelled. For example, if your remote network is 192.168.13.0/24, you should be able to connect to IPs starting with 192.168.13.x, but connections to IPs starting with 192.168.14.x will not work as they are outside the address range of traffic tunneled through the VPN. Nov 05, 2016 · I don't believe it's an issue with a firewall or router configuration, because I can successfully connect to the VPN on my iPhone, iPad and Mac without any issues while being on the same network as the laptop. I also have a personal VPN service (HideMyAss) that can use L2TP. I can successfully connect to it's service through the laptop with ease.
